Three Council Members Hosting Community Meetings in August
Councilmember Remick will host a District 6 meeting on Aug. 13, Councilmember Ross-Hammond's District 4 meeting is Aug. 25 and Councilmember Henley’s next District 2 meeting is Aug. 28.
Councilmembers Barbara Henley, Worth Remick and Dr. Amelia Ross-Hammond invite the public to attend their upcoming district community meetings.
Councilmember Remick will host a District 6 community meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 13. Topics of discussion include emergency preparation tips/resources and economic development updates around the Virginia Beach Convention Center and Virginia Beach Sports Center. Attendees also will hear from the Virginia Beach Police Department about current scams affecting residents. The meeting will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. in the auditorium at Virginia Beach Middle School. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Councilmember Dr. Ross-Hammond will host a District 4 community meeting to discuss topics including public safety, the 2025 Referendum and Burton Station. Residents also will hear updates Virginia Beach City Public Schools and Virginia Wesleyan University. The meeting is 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, at Williams Farm Recreation Center.
On Thursday, Aug. 28, join Councilmember Henley at her monthly District 2 community meeting from 5:15-7 p.m. in Building 19 at the Municipal Center. Held the fourth Thursday of each month, the meetings are held to update residents on current City projects and issues. Residents will have an opportunity to meet and build relationships with other members of the district, engage and participate in the conversation and have their questions addressed.
All meetings are free and open to the public.
