Virginia Beach Detectives Make Quick Arrest in Serial Robbery Case

On September 8, 2023, at 11:55 P.M., the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to a local business on the 2900 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. for a robbery offense. A suspect committed a theft from the location and when an employee tried to stop him, the suspect implied he had a gun.

On September 10, 2023 at 12:18 A.M., a similar offense occurred at a local business in the 4300 block of Holland Road. Again, when confronted, the suspect indicated he had a gun.

Investigating detectives indentified the robbery suspect on September 11, 2023, and signed warrants on Solomon Johnson II (M/28) of Portsmouth. At the time of the Virginia Beach offenses, Mr. Johnson was out on bond for similar offenses which occurred in the City of Portsmouth.

On September 14, 2023, Johnson was arrested in Portsmouth by the VBPD Warrant Fugitive Squad. He is charged with Robbery and Use of Firearm.
