Three Council Members Hosting Community Meetings in June
Vice Mayor Wilson and Councilmembers Henley and Jackson-Green will hold meetings for their districts.
Vice Mayor Rosemary Wilson, Councilmember Cash Jackson-Green and Councilmember Barbara Henley invite the public to attend their upcoming community meetings.
A District 5 community meeting, hosted by Vice Mayor Rosemary Wilson, will be 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11 at the Virginia Aquarium South Building. Residents will hear from public safety leaders, including Police Chief Paul Neudigate, Fire Chief Ken Pravetz and EMS Assistant Chief Bruce Nedelka. An update on the Rudee Park project will be provided by Clay Dills of Dills Architects. City staff also will give a presentation on the 17th Street Improvement project.
Councilmember Jackson-Green will host a District 7 community meeting to update residents on current city projects and issues that impact the district on Wednesday, June 25. Topics of discussion include Level Green Park and Parks After Dark at College Park Elementary School, Virginia Beach Boards and Commissions and ways to get involved, Virginia Beach Council of Civic Organizations, the VB Connect app, Ring cameras and home safety, gun safety locks, cost saving tips from Dominion Energy and offerings from CVB Sports Tourism and Event Services. It will take place from 6-8 p.m. in the auditorium of Salem High School.
On Thursday, June 26, join Councilmember Henley at her monthly District 2 community meeting from 5:15-7 p.m. in Building 19 at the Municipal Center. Held the fourth Thursday of each month, the meetings are held to update residents on current City projects and issues. Residents will have an opportunity to meet and build relationships with other members of the district, engage and participate in the conversation and have their questions addressed.
All meetings are free and open to the public.
