Strawberry Season Springs to Life in Virginia Beach

Local farms are welcoming visitors to enjoy the freshest picks.

As spring reaches full bloom, one vibrant sign of the season is returning to farm fields across the region: strawberries! Virginia Beach continues to lead the state in strawberry production, thanks to its well‑drained soil and plentiful sunshine — conditions that help growers produce some of the sweetest berries in Virginia.

Strawberries are a low‑calorie, nutrient‑rich fruit packed with vitamin C, antioxidants and fiber, making them a healthy boost to smoothies, salads, baked dishes and more.

Support Local Farms this Season

Virginia Beach farms are opening their fields for pick‑your‑own strawberry season, offering a chance to enjoy farm‑fresh flavor right from the source. Many farms also provide pre‑picked berries, though availability can change quickly depending on weather and field conditions. Calling ahead is always recommended.
