Virginia Beach Public Library Hosts Welcome Event for New Residents on May 17
Virginia Beach Public Libraries (VBPL) is welcoming new and even longtime residents to a special community event designed to help them learn more about City services, programs and resources. It will take place 1:30-4 p.m., May 17, at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with representatives from a wide range of City departments and community organizations. Participants include the Adult Learning Center, Animal Services, Communications Office, Cultural Affairs, Emergency Communications & Citizen Services, Fire Department, First Landing State Park, GrowSmart, HR Green, Housing & Neighborhood Preservation, Human Services, Office of Volunteer Resources, Lynnhaven River Now, Master Gardeners, the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), NAMI Coastal Virginia, Parks & Recreation, Virginia Aquarium, Virginia Department of Veterans Services, and the Voter Registrar.
“This event gives residents a welcoming space to ask questions, discover available services, and learn how the City can support them,” said event organizer Madison Miniello. “Whether you're new to Virginia Beach or have lived here for years, there’s something here to help you feel more connected.”
The first 100 attendees will receive a complimentary gift from Virginia Beach Public Library. The event is free, open to all ages and does not require registration.
