VBPD Investigating Fatal Collision on First Colonial Rd.

Emergency Communications and Citizen Services dispatched Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers to a collision involving a moped at the 800 block of First Colonial Rd. at 9:50 a.m. on April 24, 2024.

VBPD officers arrived on scene and found one critically injured patient, who was transported to a local hospital by Virginia Beach Emergency Medical Services. The patient, Jennifer Albertson (F/41), succumbed to her injuries on April 26, 2024.

Two other drivers were involved in the incident; both remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.  No charges have been filed at this time.
