VBPD Arrests Individual Involved in Ambulance Theft
On Feb. 20, 2024, at approximately 7 p.m., the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to a report of a stolen ambulance from Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, located in the 1500 block of North Great Neck Rd.
Responding officers located the stolen ambulance and initiated a vehicle pursuit. During the pursuit, VBPD officers were able to successfully deploy tire deflation devices. The ambulance eventually drove onto the sidewalk and collided with a building pillar on Laskin Ave.
The driver, Christopher Allman (M/33) of Virginia Beach, was charged Grand Larceny, Felony Eluding, Felony Destruction of Property, Impersonation of EMS Personnel, Tampering with an EMS Vehicle, and Maliciously Activating a Fire Alarm.
Note: The charges mentioned in this news release are accusations, and the arrested individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
