ShotSpotter Alert Leads to Arrest in Shooting on Aubrey Drive
On June 12, 2024 at 7:07 p.m., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to a ShotSpotter alert at the 600 block of Aubrey Dr.
As officers arrived on scene, Emergency Citizen and Communications Services (ECCS) received a corresponding 9-1-1 call from the victim, who reported having been shot at while in their vehicle. The victim was unharmed; however, during the investigation, officers located a bullet hole in the victim's vehicle.
During the investigation, VBPD detectives identified two suspects — Deondris Cain (M/37) of Virginia Beach and Tyisha Davis (F/39) of Virginia Beach. Cain and Davis were apprehended on June 13, 2024.
Cain is charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding, four counts of Conspiracy, Maliciously Throwing Missile at an Occupied Vehicle, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by Felon.
Davis is charged with Maliciously Shooting at an Occupied Vehicle and Conspiracy.
