May 20 Update: Due to predicted inclement weather, the implementation of the all-way stop at Norfolk Avenue has been postponed to May 22.
Beginning Wednesday, May 21 (weather permitting), the intersection of Norfolk Avenue and Mediterranean Avenue will become an all-way stop.
The change is aimed at improving safety and traffic flow at this busy intersection. Currently, only Mediterranean Avenue has stop signs, but starting May 21, stop signs will also be added to Norfolk Avenue, making it a full four-way stop.Â
To further increase visibility and awareness, the new signs on Norfolk Avenue will feature LED blinking lights. Additionally, variable message boards have been placed along Norfolk Avenue to notify motorists of the upcoming change. These boards will remain in place for at least a week after the implementation to reinforce the new traffic pattern.
Motorists are urged to use extra caution when traveling through the area and to be mindful of the new signage.Â
