Federal Judge Sentences Fentanyl Dealer to 20 Years
Izayah Dural (M/23) of Chesapeake is now serving 20 years in prison for his role in the fatal overdose of a juvenile in Virginia Beach.
Dural was arrested on June 11, 2024, as part of a collaborative drug trafficking investigation between the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD), the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Chesapeake Police Department.
The joint investigation determined that Dural was responsible for distributing large quantities of fentanyl pills in the greater Hampton Roads area, including Virginia Beach.
On June 2, pills that Dural trafficked directly led to the fatal overdose of a juvenile in Virginia Beach.
When Dural was apprehended on June 11, 2024, he was in possession of 80 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl, additional fentanyl pills, and a handgun with an extended magazine.
Dural was sentenced on July 30, 2025, upon his conviction of one count of Distribution of Fentanyl Resulting in Death.
“VBPD remains committed to investigating the distribution of fentanyl in our city,” said Police Chief Paul Neudigate. “Our department will continue partnering with other law enforcement agencies to stamp out this lethal substance and hold those who unlawfully distribute it to others accountable.”
