Commonwealth v. Treshaun Lamont Snipes; First Degree Murder Conviction In Killing of Co-Worker

Virginia Beach, Va. – Colin D. Stolle, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the city of Virginia Beach, announced that Treshaun Lamont Snipes, age 26, formerly of the 6600 block of Chartwell Drive in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was found guilty by Circuit Court Judge Afshin Farashahi on charges of First Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm, and Carrying Concealed Weapon.  Judge Farashahi will sentence Snipes on November 19, 2025.

The Commonwealth’s evidence proved that on February 5, 2021, Treshaun Lamont Snipes approached his co-worker, Keyon Turner, at Turner’s home and shot him multiple times.  A bystander observed Snipes flee from the scene but could not identify him. Ring doorbell footage from a nearby residence captured Snipes running away. When footage was shown to other friends, Snipes was developed as a potential suspect.  Investigators from the Virginia Beach Police Department approached Snipes at his work, and he had a firearm on him.  This was sent to the lab for analysis.  Forensic examination from the Department of Forensic Science determined that the gun Snipes was carrying at the time of his arrest was used to fire the shell casings recovered at the scene. A police K-9 unit found muddy clothes in the woods near the crime scene, and they were identified as belonging to Snipes.
