Three Easy Ways to Report a Pothole

Public Works crews have repaired more than 2,300 potholes since January. You can help crews keep our roads smooth and safe.

As spring brings blooming flowers and warmer temperatures, wet winter weather has left something far less welcome: potholes. And after the rough weather this year, roads are seeing more than their fair share. Since March 1, after February’s last snowfall, Virginia Beach Public Works has repaired over 634 potholes. Daily reports of potholes from the public have averaged 21 per day since that storm, but with additional reports from Public Works crews and other City staff, the number has grown to over 50 per day.     

The good news? You can help speed up the process by reporting them. Here’s how:  

You’ll need to provide the specific address if possible. If you don’t know the specific address, provide the street it’s on and the closest cross street. The average response time is within 96 hours.
