Library Debuts New Way to Take Care of Business

Bring baby along with you to safely (and for free!) use the computer at Kempsville Area Library

Do you have a little wiggly one, but also need time and space to work at a computer? Whether you’re a parent, grandparent or other caregiver, using a computer can be challenging if you’re balancing a baby on your lap.

Virginia Beach Public Library (VBPL) has a solution: a new family workstation at the Kempsville Area Library. It’s a computer workstation attached to an age-appropriate play area for young children, giving you a convenient option to work while your child is safe within arm’s reach, exploring an engaging space.

You can use public library computers and free internet access to complete schoolwork, apply for jobs, stay connected with family, and take care of other business or personal needs. Come check out this latest addition at the Kempsville branch – just another example of how VBPL is removing barriers so residents can access valuable library resources.

While you’re at the library, stock up on plenty of books; fall is a great time to cozy up and read. You can also borrow outdoor games and equipment, like tents, pickleball sets, telescopes, bird-watching kits and more. Browse VBPL’s “Library of Things” to explore the possibilities.
