Two City Council Members Hosting Community Events in November

Vice Mayor Rosemary Wilson and Councilmember Worth Remick invite the public to attend their upcoming district community events.

Join Vice Mayor Wilson and special guest Sheriff Rocky Holcomb for a District 5 Self-Defense Workshop. This free, hands-on session will cover self-defense tips and tools for residents to protect themselves and their families in everyday situations, especially during the holidays. It will also go over how to protect yourself from scammers. The workshop is 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Princess Anne Recreation Center.

Also on Nov. 12, Councilmember Remick will host a District 6 community meeting to update residents on current city projects and issues. Topics of discussion include the 17th Street/Virginia Beach Boulevard Improvements project, Seatack Park, VB Trail, HAWK signals and e-bikes. The meeting will be held 6:30-8 p.m. in the auditorium at Virginia Beach Middle School. Doors open at 6 p.m.

All events are free and open to the public.
