The 2026 Spring Guide is here, packed with events, activities and registration opportunities running March through May. From cultural festivals and environmental initiatives to youth sports and summer camp registration, this season is all about growth, connection and getting outdoors.
Spring Highlights to Celebrate
Some of the season’s most anticipated events are highlighted in the guide, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the outdoors, learn something new and connect with the community:
Cherry Blossom Festival — March 27–April 3: Celebrate spring with family-friendly activities, cultural performances and beautiful blooms throughout Red Wing Park. Spots for guided activities are filling up fast, so plan ahead.

Together, these events capture the energy, diversity and pride that make Virginia Beach such a special place to live, learn and celebrate.
Plan Ahead: Family Programs and Youth Activities
Spring is also an exciting time for families planning ahead. Early childhood registration is open, along with summer camp registration and therapeutic recreation summer programs. Fall youth softball and volleyball registration also opens this season, giving families the chance to plan ahead for another great sports season. Now is the perfect time to secure your child’s spot for a summer full of fun, learning and adventure. VBPR is also celebrating children this season with programs and activities that spotlight youth development, creativity and community engagement.
Stay Active in May: Bike Month and Military Appreciation
May brings even more ways to stay active and involved. Bike Month (May 1-31) encourages riders of all ages to get outside and explore Virginia Beach on two wheels, while special activities highlight the benefits of biking for fitness, fun and community connection. We encourage residents and visitors to enjoy e-bike riding while staying safe and following the rules of the road. Use the updated VB ParkFinder app to discover parks and trails, find directions, and see available amenities while planning your ride. More information about bikeways and trails can be found at VirginiaBeach.gov/Bikeways. May is also Military Appreciation Month, and we’re proud to honor our service members and their families with Freedom Friday coupons and special opportunities to say thank you for their service.
Programs for Every Age and Interest
Of course, Parks and Recreation continues to offer a wide variety of programs for all ages and interests. Recreation centers feature fitness classes, swimming, archery, martial arts, sports leagues, arts programs, therapeutic recreation and more. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure, wellness programs, youth activities or lifelong learning opportunities, the Spring Guide makes it easy to find what fits your lifestyle and stay connected all season long.
