City Council Members Hosting Community Events in July
Vice Mayor Wilson and Councilmembers Henley, Remick and Ross-Hammond will host meetings for their districts.
Vice Mayor Rosemary Wilson and Councilmembers Barbara Henley, Worth Remick and Amelia Ross-Hammond invite the public to attend their upcoming community meetings.
Attend Vice Mayor Wilson's District 5 community meeting on Thursday, July 9, where Budget Director Kevin Chatellier will give a presentation on "Everything you wanted to know about the Virginia Beach budget." In addition, a presentation will be given on the proposed Virginia Beach National Golf development. The meeting is 6-7:30 p.m. at the Virginia Aquarium South Building.
Also on July 9, Councilmember Dr. Ross-Hammond will host a District 4 community meeting 6-8 p.m. at Williams Farm Recreation Center. Topics of discussion include a summer safety briefing from the Virginia Beach Police Department, affordable/attainable housing, FY 2026-27 budget programming for the district and an update on road projects.
Join Councilmember Henley at her monthly District 2 community meeting from 5:15-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, in Building 19 at the Municipal Center. Held the fourth Thursday of each month, the meetings are held to update residents on current City projects and issues. Residents will have an opportunity to meet and build relationships with other members of the district, engage and participate in the conversation and have their questions addressed.
On Wednesday, July 29, Councilmember Worth Remick will host a District 6 community meeting 6:30-8 p.m. at the Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church. Topics of discussion will include a summer safety briefing from the Virginia Beach Police Department and a panel Q&A with Councilmember Remick, Second Precinct leadership and Mike Tippin, Stormwater Engineering Center administrator.
All meetings are free and open to the public.
