Find Something for All Ages & Stages

The City’s new Ages & Stages hub makes it easy to find programs, services, events and assistance tailored to you.

Find something for all ages and stages

The City of Virginia Beach offers a wide variety of programs and services for residents of all ages. You’ve probably visited at least a few of the 10 public libraries, seven recreation centers and 293 parks. You may know you can check out books for free with a Virginia Beach Public Library card, and access exercise equipment and fitness classes with a Parks & Recreation membership. But did you know…

…you can borrow robots and surfboards along with your library books, or that the library will deliver materials to your door if you’re sick for an extended time and can’t leave home?

…you can rent a kayak or launch your own canoe at several parks, or that you can find before- and afterschool childcare in all recreation centers?

Ages & Stages

To help residents discover the breadth of programs and support available, the City is launching an “Ages & Stages” awareness campaign, including a new webpage, VirginiaBeach.gov/AgesandStages, that packages offerings from over 30 departments and highlights existing tools to stay informed.

Explore Offerings from A-Z and More

Looking for resources or types of activities the City offers? Browse the listings from A-Z on the Ages & Stages webpage, or filter by categories: assistance, programs, resources and special events. Or, filter by audience: children and families, teens, adults, seniors and caregivers to explore options to meet your needs and interests.

Each listing includes a link to more information. From here, you’ll also find featured timely content pointing to relevant resources.

Get Tailored News to Your Inbox

The City has long-offered email subscriptions so residents can choose to stay informed about City news, events and special projects. As part of the Ages & Stages campaign, you can now sign up to receive emails about things to do and City offerings tailored for the interests of children and families, teens, adults and seniors.

Ways to Connect

The Ages & Stages awareness campaign will also highlight the existing tools at  VirginiaBeach.gov/Connect that residents can use to stay informed. Options include the City’s public meeting calendar, Be in the Know blog and social media.

There are also mobile apps such as VB Connect, for City information and services, and VB Go, to find more than 6,000 events in Virginia Beach across multiple calendars.

What Will You Discover?
