Virginia Beach Police Investigate Fatal Shooting on Mulberry Loop

At 5:22 PM on January 15, 2024, the Virginia Beach Emergency Communications and Citizen Services received multiple calls reporting a shooting incident in the 2500 block of Mulberry Loop. Officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) and Virginia Beach Rescue responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers and rescue personnel located the victim, identified as Danny Theis (M/48) of Virginia Beach, suffering from a gunshot wound. Immediate medical attention was provided. Theis was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigations indicate that this incident is domestic-related. The VBPD Homicide Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
