Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation to Host Third Annual Autumn in the Air Festival

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation will host the third annual Autumn in the Air festival from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Mount Trashmore Park. The free, family-friendly event will feature live music, local food vendors, games and interactive activities for all ages. 

The festival’s Banjos, Brews & Bites main stage will feature a mix of folk, Americana and rock performances throughout the afternoon. The music schedule is below: 

  • 12:15-1:30 p.m. – The Storyweavers 
  • 2-3:15 p.m. – Monarch 
  • 3:45-5 p.m. – Lucky 757 

Local food trucks and beverage vendors will include Voodoo Brewing Co. Virginia Beach, Bear House Coffee, Hot Mama’s Kitchen, Mello Beans Coffee, Potato Peeps, Rio Good Food, Sweet Life Cupcakery and Sweet Tweets. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase by guests ages 21 and older with valid identification. Alcohol must remain within the designated beer garden area. 

New this year is the Resource and Vendor Village, featuring city departments, handcrafted goods, pet-friendly businesses and community organizations, offering clothing, insurance and school resources. The village will include ceramics, jewelry, apparel, woodwork and pre-packaged treats such as popcorn, jerky and cookies. 

Activity highlights include: 

  • Pumpkin-themed yard games 
  • Petting zoo by Teeny Tiny Farm 
  • Sensory zone hosted by the Parks & Recreation Therapeutic and Inclusion team 
  • Inflatable bounce house, football and basketball games and more 

Attendees also can visit TreeTopia, an educational area focused on tree planting and conservation. Visitors are invited to participate in hands-on activities, connect with local arborists and horticulture experts, and receive a free sapling while supplies last. Participants are encouraged to share photos using #VBPlantingPals on social media. 

Admission and parking are free. Seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted; however, tents and large coolers are prohibited. Bags and small coolers will be checked at the entrance.
