Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission Hosting Affordable Housing Forum on Feb. 21
The Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission (VBHRC) is hosting a forum, “Community Conversations: Affordable Housing,” 2-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd.Â
The event will include a panel discussion on housing needs and affordability featuring regional community leaders and organizers:Â
- Melissa Bonfiglio, deputy director and director, Litigation for Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia Â
- Gustavo Espinosa, senior organizer and policy advocate, Legal Aid Justice CenterÂ
- Victor Leite, chief executive officer, Dwell, a workforce and attainable housing provider serving Hampton RoadsÂ
- Gus Maxwell, public outreach coordinator, Hampton Roads TransitÂ
- Sharon Shoff, Housing Development manager, Department of Housing and Neighborhood PreservationÂ
After the panel discussion, various organizations will be available to share information on resources and opportunities for residents to get involved in the community. The event is free and open to the public. Registration at Community Conversations: Affordable Housing Forum is encouraged. For more information about the forum, call 757-385-1158.Â
