Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission Community Forum to Focus on Affordable Healthcare on Aug. 8
Residents can learn to navigate the current healthcare system and find resources at a community forum with healthcare leaders. Hosted by the Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission (VBHRC), "Community Conversations: Affordable Healthcare” will be 2-4:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, at Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd.
The event will include a panel discussion on healthcare affordability and accessibility featuring regional community leaders and organizers:
- Janey Garrett, founder, P.E.A.C.E. Clinical Solutions LLC
- Caitlin Pedati, director, Virginia Beach Department of Public Health
- Cynthia Romero, director, M. Foscue Brock Institute, Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University (ODU)
- Tammy Speerhas, chief operating officer, ODU Community Care
Representatives from various organizations will be available to share information on resources, including the Lion’s Club Mobile Sight and Hearing Van.
The event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged. For more information about the forum, call 757-385-1158.
