VBPD Makes Arrest in Shooting on Sullivan Circle

On June 3, 2025, officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to the 700 block of Sullivan Cir. for a shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and located one victim who was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives identified Joseph Strader (M/32) of Virginia Beach as the suspect. On June 11, 2025, Strader was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
