VBPD Makes Arrest in Malicious Wounding on Marsh Duck Way
On July 31, 2026, at approximately 1:45 p.m., the Emergency Communication and Citizens Services (ECCS) received a report of a shooting in the 500 block of Marsh Duck Way. Simultaneously, ECCS received reports of shots fired in the 900 block of Atlantis Way.
Upon arrival, Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers located one adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The VBPD Homicide Unit assumed lead in the investigation and arrested Quatavious Reid (M/18) of Virginia Beach for aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a trigger activator (switch) and extended magazine.
The victim (M/22) of Virginia Beach was also arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Both parties are being held without bond.
