On May 17, 2025, at approximately 11:48 p.m., an adult walking southbound on Atlantic Avenue near 20th Street with a group of friends was struck in the leg by a single gunshot. Camera footage later showed an unknown male firing a handgun towards the victim and the group before fleeing westbound on 20th Street.
