VBPD Makes Arrest for Voluntary Manslaughter on West Kendall Circle

On June 21, 2026, at 8:13 p.m., the Emergency Communication and Citizens Services (ECCS) received a report of a shooting in the 2100 block of West Kendall Circle.

Upon arrival, Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers located an adult male who had been shot. The victim, Daryl Sherwood (M/55) of Virginia Beach, was transported to an area hospital, where Sherwood was pronounced deceased.

The VBPD Homicide Squad assumed the lead in the investigation and arrested Dylan Sherwood (M/25) of Virginia Beach for this offense. Sherwood was charged with one count of voluntary manslaughter and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
