VBPD Makes Arrest for Aggravated Malicious Wounding on Northampton Blvd
On September 4, 2026, Virginia Beach Emergency Communications and Citizen Services (ECCS) received a call for an alleged assault in the 5700 block of Northampton Boulevard. Responding officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for his injuries.
On September 25, 2026, Virginia Beach Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Squad arrested Drashawn McCoy (M/33) of Virginia Beach. McCoy is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a violent felon, and carrying a concealed weapon.
McCoy is currently being held at the Virginia Beach City Jail. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
