On December 1, 2025, The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) is proud to announce the rollout of a groundbreaking tool from the Axon platform called Axon Translation, an innovation designed to enhance public safety and community engagement.

Axon Translation provides officers with real-time language interpretation in 56 dialects, helping bridge communication gaps with residents, visitors, and tourists from around the world. This technology ensures that critical information can be shared quickly and clearly, improving safety on-scene and strengthening trust across diverse communities.
