VBPD Investigating Fatal Crash on Virginia Beach Boulevard
On July 26, 2025, at approximately 12:23 p.m., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to the 3700 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. for a crash involving a motorcycle.
First responders located two patients – the driver of the motorcycle and the driver of an involved vehicle. The motorcyclist, Nicholas Rizzotti (M/21) of Chesapeake, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Virginia Beach Blvd. at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a red traffic signal before the collision with a vehicle turning eastbound onto Virginia Beach Blvd.
This incident is being investigated by the VBPD Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact VBPD at (757) 385-4606 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or P3Tips.com.
