VBPD Investigating Fatal Crash on London Bridge Road

On Aug. 23, 2025, at 2:19 a.m., Emergency Communications and Citizen Services (ECCS) received a report of a crash in the 600 block of London Bridge Rd. Officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to the scene.   

The first driver, Steven White II (M/37) of Norfolk, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

A preliminary investigation determined that White’s vehicle was struck by a second vehicle that was traveling south in the northbound lanes of London Bridge Rd.  

The driver of the second vehicle, Erwin Marroquin-Herrera (M/26) of Virginia Beach, and an adult male passenger were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.  

Officers charged Marroquin-Herrera with Manslaughter, DUI (first offense) and two counts of Possession of Fictitious Identification.
