VBPD Investigates Fatal Crash on First Colonial Road

On August 25, 2026, at approximately 3:17 p.m., Emergency Communications and Citizen Services (ECCS) received a report of a single‑vehicle crash in the 1100 block of First Colonial Road.

Upon arrival, Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers and Emergency Medical Services personnel located the driver, Sue A. Wilkinson (F/80) of Virginia Beach. Wilkinson was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. A preliminary investigation determined that Wilkinson left the roadway, struck a tree, and her vehicle subsequently overturned.

On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at approximately 10:48 a.m., Wilkinson was pronounced deceased at the hospital by medical personnel.
