Crunchy Hydration, EdLogics and SalesE are one step closer to winning $1 million
Three Virginia Beach-based startups have earned one of nine coveted spots in the final round of the Startup World Cup Virginia Regional. This exciting event brings together top startups from across the Commonwealth to pitch their product/service for the opportunity to compete on the global stage at the Startup World Cup Global Finals later this year in San Francisco.
The final round of the competition will take place Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts. Crunchy Hydration, EdLogics and SalesE will compete against six other Virginia-based startups for a chance to win a $1 million investment. Virginia Beach Economic Development (VBED) champions the Startup World Cup Virginia Regional Finals as the presenting sponsor.
In addition to serving as the event’s presenting sponsor, VBED will host a pre-event open celebration at The HIVE, the city’s business resource center and incubator, located at 140 Independence Blvd., Suite 100. The open house is 3-5 p.m. and offers an inside look at the services and support available to local entrepreneurs and founders.
"Three Virginia Beach companies advancing to Startup World Cup regionals proves our innovation ecosystem is thriving," said Virginia Beach Deputy City Manager Amanda Jarratt. "The resources we've built—from The HIVE to our strategic business support programs—are propelling high-growth companies onto the national and international stage."
The Startup World Cup Virginia Regional Finals are presented in collaboration with Innovate Hampton Roads and Pegasus Tech Ventures. The winner of the regional finals will advance to represent Virginia in the global competition. Last year’s winner, ivWatch placed third in the global competition.
