Temporary Road Closure on Atlantic Avenue Nov. 4
Atlantic Avenue will be closed between 34th and 35th streets on Nov. 4 as heavy construction equipment performs rooftop repair work for an Oceanfront business. Â
The repair work is scheduled between approximately 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., including assembly and disassembly of a crane. The road closure may be extended until early afternoon Nov. 5 if delays are encountered for issues such as inclement weather or an equipment malfunction.Â
Motorists will be advised of the road closure with warning signage, and they are urged to use alternate routes. There may be traffic congestion and construction noise at Atlantic Avenue during the work period. Â
The east sidewalk of Atlantic Avenue between 34th and 35th streets also will be closed, while the west sidewalk will remain open for pedestrian traffic. Parking is accessible from the 35th Street 200 block.Â
Questions may be directed to Tom Landreth, Virginia Beach Planning/Permits and Inspections, at  757-385-8145.Â
