Suspect Arrested in South Lynnhaven Road Shooting
On Aug. 23, 2025, at 3:57 a.m., Emergency Communications and Citizen Services (ECCS) received a report of a gunshot wound in the 2900 block of S. Lynnhaven Road. Responding officers arrived on scene but could not locate a victim.Â
Shortly after the incident, an adult male walked into an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. VBPD detectives responded, and through the course of the investigation, were able to link the victim to the shooting on S. Lynnhaven Rd.   Â
Detectives later identified Jasmine Hockaday (F/32) of Virginia Beach as the suspect. She was arrested on Aug. 27, 2025, for aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm, and shooting in an occupied dwelling. Â
This incident is being investigated by the VBPD Detective Bureau. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detective Bureau at (757) 385-4101 or Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or P3Tips.com. Â
