Suspect Arrested in South Lynnhaven Road Shooting

On Aug. 23, 2025, at 3:57 a.m., Emergency Communications and Citizen Services (ECCS) received a report of a gunshot wound in the 2900 block of S. Lynnhaven Road. Responding officers arrived on scene but could not locate a victim. 

Shortly after the incident, an adult male walked into an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. VBPD detectives responded, and through the course of the investigation, were able to link the victim to the shooting on S. Lynnhaven Rd.    

Detectives later identified Jasmine Hockaday (F/32) of Virginia Beach as the suspect. She was arrested on Aug. 27, 2025, for aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm, and shooting in an occupied dwelling.
