Special Formal Session for Council Vote on Temporary Additional Curfew for Unaccompanied Minors

A Special Formal Session will be held to address public safety concerns at the Oceanfront. The session will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in the City Council Conference Room (Room 2034), Building 1, at the Municipal Center.

The purpose of the Special Session is for City Council to convene in a Closed Session to receive legal advice regarding an imminent threat curfew ordinance. Following the Closed Session, the Council will reconvene in Open Session at 4 p.m. in the City Council Chamber to consider action on the proposed ordinance.

Ordinance Under Consideration

An ordinance to authorize a temporary additional curfew for unaccompanied minors and to authorize certain additional actions to assist law enforcement at the Resort Area.

If approved, the ordinance would authorize the Police Chief, with the concurrence of the City Manager and Mayor, to enact a temporary additional curfew for unaccompanied minors within the Resort Area during specified evening hours on upcoming weekends through April 30, 2026.
