ShotSpotter Alert Leads to Arrest in W. Hastings Arch Shooting

On Nov. 10, 2024 at 6:49 p.m., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to a ShotSpotter alert at the 5000 block of W. Hastings Arch.

Officers arrived on scene and found a 15-year-old male from Virginia Beach suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

During the investigation, officers identified another 15-year-old male from Virginia Beach as the suspect. On Nov. 14, 2024, the suspect was apprehended and charged with Malicious Wounding and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
