Pyrotechnics Training to Take Place at Mount Trashmore on April 1

Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Virginia Beach Fire Marshal’s Office, will conduct joint training on pyrotechnics management around 7 p.m., April 1, at Mount Trashmore Park.
After dusk, fireworks will be let off periodically as part of the testing. This is not a public display. Mount Trashmore Park’s trail around Lake Trashmore will be closed to the public starting at 5 p.m., and the park itself will close at sunset.
Multiple public safety vehicles will be on site during this event. Text alerts will be sent to neighborhoods around Mount Trashmore Park to advise residents sensitive to loud noises, or those with pets.
