One of Two Suspects in Multiple Smoke Shop Robberies Apprehended

On May 5, 2025, the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) Violent Crimes Unit detectives began investigating the robberies of two separate smoke shops.  The businesses, located in the 3500 block of Holland Rd. and the 4800 block of Princess Anne Rd., were robbed within an hour of each other.  

The preliminary investigation determined that two suspects were involved in both incidents.  One of the suspects was identified as Dayquon Veney (M/28) of Baltimore, MD.  VBPD detectives secured warrants on Veney for Strongarmed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Grand Larceny, and Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny. 

On July 3, 2025, Veney was apprehended in Baltimore by the U.S. Marshals for his warrants in Virginia Beach, as well as separate warrants in Baltimore and Annapolis, MD.
