Share Your Voice: Help Shape Virginia Beach's Safety Priorities

The Mayor’s Task Force for a Safer Virginia Beach wants to know how residents experience safety in their neighborhoods — what's working, what isn't and what should change. A survey online at SpeakUpVB.com, open now through Friday, Aug. 7, gives residents and other stakeholders a direct line to the task force as it shapes its recommendations to City Council. 

Mayor Robert M. “Bobby” Dyer established the Mayor’s Task Force for a Safer Virginia Beach to gather input from residents, businesses and community partners while examining ways to enhance public safety. The group is charged with identifying opportunities to help Virginia Beach remain both a safe place to live and a welcoming destination for visitors. 

The Task Force is expected to complete its work later this year before presenting recommendations to City Council for consideration. Throughout the process, the group will continue engaging the community and providing regular progress updates to City Council. 

Feedback collected through the survey will help the task force better understand how residents view safety in Virginia Beach and inform its recommendations to City Council. 

Complete the survey online at SpeakUpVB.com. Those who do not have computer access or who need additional help in accessing the information and completing the survey online are encouraged to visit any Virginia Beach Public Library (VBPL) for assistance. Paper copies of the survey also are available at all VBPL branches and must by submitted by Aug. 7.
