Forty-five Members of Virginia Task Force 2 (VA-TF2) USAR Activated to Tennessee to Support Disaster Response for Severe Weather Conditions
Forty-five members of Virginia Task Force 2 were activated at 1400 hours on Friday, April 4, 2025, as a Type 3 Team to support disaster response for severe weather in Tennessee. The team will depart at 2000 hours on Friday, April 4, from the Harry E. Diezel Fire Training Center, 927 S. Birdneck Road, and are expected to arrive in Tennessee on Saturday, April 5. Eight members of the East IST Cache Team were activated at 1900 hours on Tuesday, April 2, 2025, in response to severe weather in Kentucky. They rendezvous with FEMA IST in Tennessee and are assisting local agencies with requests for assistance as needed.
