Flock Technology Leads to Arrest in 14th Shooting Incident
On January 19, 2026, at 11:15 hours, the Emergency Communication and Citizens Services (ECCS) received a report of shooting in the 800 block of 14th Street.
Upon arrival, Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
Preliminary investigation identified a license plate belonging to the suspect vehicle. VBPD officers used Flock technology to locate the vehicle and take the occupant into custody.
The VBPD Homicide Unit was able to secure charges for the fourteen-year-old male suspect of Chesapeake in this offense. The juvenile was arrested on the following warrants:
· Aggravated malicious wounding
· Use of a firearm in commission of a felony
