Eight Members of Virginia Task Force 2 (VA-TF2) Activated in Response to Tropical Depression 9

UPDATE: Due to a change in the weather forecast, the IST Cache is returning home to Virginia Beach.

As part of the East IST Cache Team, eight members of Virginia Task Force 2 (VA-TF2) deployed at 0400 hours on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in response to Tropical Depression 9. The team departed early Sunday morning after preparing the Incident Support Team (IST) cache for deployment. The team is expected to stage in Columbia, South Carolina later this evening. They will rendezvous with FEMA IST in and assist local agencies with requests for assistance as needed.
