Court Issues Temporary Restraining Order Pausing Enforcement of Oceanfront All-Ages Curfew Ordinance

The Virginia Beach Circuit Court issued a Temporary Restraining Order pausing enforcement of tomorrow’s 9:30 p.m. all-ages curfew.

This ruling impacts the curfew originally scheduled for Friday, April 24, but has no impact on the previously established juvenile curfew.

The temporary 9:30 p.m. curfew for the nights of April 17, 18 and 24 was intended to support public safety efforts during high‑activity weekends and provide law enforcement with an additional tool to manage large crowds and address recent disturbances in the Oceanfront area.

The existing 7 p.m. unaccompanied minor curfew at the Oceanfront will still be enforced this Friday and Saturday.
