Commonwealth v. Timothy Ian Juda; 20 Years to Serve for Child Pornography Possession and Distribution

Virginia Beach, Va. – Colin D. Stolle, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the city of Virginia Beach, announced that Timothy Ian Juda, age 48, formerly of the 200 block of Coventry Road in Virginia Beach, Virginia, pled guilty and was sentenced today on charges of Possession of Child Pornography (1st offense), Possession of Child Pornography - Subsequent Offense (9 counts), Reproduction of Child Pornography – (1st Offense), and Reproduction of Child Pornography - Subsequent Offense (3 counts).  Circuit Court Judge Jonathan Stone sentenced Juda to 70 years in prison with 50 years suspended, leaving 20 years to serve.

Had this matter gone to trial, the Commonwealth’s evidence would have proven that in January 2026, the Virginia Beach Police Department was contacted by a member of a citizen group to report that Timothy Ian Juda had been engaging in online chats with an individual from the group that Juda thought was a minor. A member of the citizen group confronted Juda at his home in Virginia Beach, and Juda admitted to possessing child pornography.

Police arrived on the scene and began an investigation.  Juda made several incriminating statements to detectives.  Forensics personnel with the Virginia Beach Police Department seized and analyzed Juda’s electronic devices. The analysis revealed that between November 2025 and January 2026, Juda possessed images of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on his devices and had distributed CSAM files to other users electronically using the platform Telegram.

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jonathan V. Gallo prosecuted this case. Please contact Macie Allen if additional information is desired.
