Commonwealth v. Samuel Jacob Walker; Man Sentenced to 45 Years in Prison for Repeated Sexual Abuse of Child

Virginia Beach, Va. – Colin D. Stolle, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the city of Virginia Beach, announced that Samuel Jacob Walker, age 33, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, was sentenced today on charges of Indecent Liberties (6 counts) and Carnal Knowledge (3 counts).  He was found guilty of these charges after a jury trial on November 24, 2025. Circuit Court Judge Afshin Farashahi, who presided over the jury trial, sentenced Walker to ninety (90) years in prison with 45 years suspended, leaving 45 years to serve, as well as a fine of $30,000.  This sentence greatly exceeds the high end of the Virginia State Sentencing Guidelines, which recommended a sentence no greater than twenty (20) years. 

The Commonwealth’s evidence proved that between October 1, 2024, and January 1, 2025, Samuel Jacob Walker engaged in sexual abuse of a minor child known to him. He began grooming the child and slowly the sexual abuse escalated.  The abuse happened almost daily over a period of several months. Walker also showed the child sexually explicit material on his cell phone and gave the child gifts.  When the child’s parents discovered the abuse, they contacted police who began an investigation.  Over the course of the investigation and criminal prosecution, Walker repeatedly harassed the child’s family, to include violating a protective order the family had obtained through court system.
