Commonwealth v. Doyal Richard George; Jury Finds Man Guilty for Decades of Sexual Abuse of Foster and Adopted Children

Virginia Beach, Va. – Colin D. Stolle, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the city of Virginia Beach, announced that Doyal Richard George, age 67, of the 190 block of Horseshoe Bend in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was found guilty by a jury on charges of Rape (2 counts), Forcible Sodomy – Victim Under Age 13 (3 counts), Forcible Sodomy Victim Age 13-17, Aggravated Sexual Battery – Victim Under Age 13 (2 counts), Aggravated Sexual Battery – Victim Age 13-17, and Custodial Indecent Liberties (3 counts).  Circuit Court Judge Afshin Farashahi, who presided over the four-day trial, will sentence George on November 16, 2026.

The Commonwealth’s evidence proved that on dozens of occasions between February 22, 2006, and October 31, 2022, Doyal George sexually abused foster and adopted children in his care.  The children were as young as four (4) years old and the abuse went on until they were in their early to mid-teens. Each child eventually made disclosures to trusted adults who reported the sexual abuse to police.  The investigation spanned six (6) years until charges were ultimately brought and prosecuted.

The investigation remains ongoing. If anyone has information about this case, please contact the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Detective Bureau at (757) 385-4101.
