City Offices and Facilities Closed Jan. 22 Due to Winter Weather

Due to ongoing response efforts due to winter weather, City offices and facilities are closed all day Wednesday, Jan. 22. Solid waste and recycling collection for Wednesday is rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25.

Residents are advised to stay indoors to avoid icy road conditions as much as possible. Public Works crews and Parks & Recreation Landscape Services will continue to treat snow routes and critical public safety buildings. 

Residents can stay informed during local emergencies including major weather events by signing up for VBAlert. Text “VBAlert” to 67283 or sign up at VirginiaBeach.gov/VBAlert to receive important messages and emergency alert notifications from the City of Virginia Beach and Emergency Management during inclement weather.
