City of Virginia Beach Urges People to Take Precautions During Extreme Heat
With high temperatures expected over the coming days, the City of Virginia Beach is urging people to take precautions. Residents are welcome to visit any of our Public Library locations to cool off during a location’s normal business hours.

Virginia Beach residents may be eligible for funding to help offset the cost of utility bills, equipment purchases or repairs related to the operation of an air conditioning unit through the cooling assistance program. Eligible residents may apply in person at the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services, online or by phone. Applications are accepted through Aug. 15.
