City of Virginia Beach Offices and Facilities Closed Feb. 20 Due to Winter Weather
Changes made to upcoming trash and recycling schedule.
Due to Winter Storm Kingston, City of Virginia Beach facilities and offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 20.
Waste and Recycling Services Updates:
- Wednesday, Feb. 19: Waste collection services will be completed on Saturday, Feb. 22.
- Thursday, Feb. 20: Waste and recycling services will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 22.
- Friday, Feb. 21: Waste and recycling services will take place on Monday, Feb. 24.
Residents are advised to place their carts at the curb today and keep them there until they are serviced. This schedule is subject to the safe accessibility of waste collection trucks in the neighborhoods.
For ongoing updates, including public meeting and event cancellations, please visit Emergency.VirginiaBeach.gov.

Residents are advised to stay indoors to avoid anticipated hazardous road conditions as much as possible. Residents can stay informed during local emergencies including major weather events by signing up for VBAlert.
