City of Virginia Beach Offices and Facilities Closed Feb. 19 Due to Winter Weather

Due to expected snowfall from Winter Storm Kingston, City of Virginia Beach facilities and offices will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Waste and recycling services for Feb. 19 will take place as long as road conditions permit. Residents must have their carts at the curb by 6 a.m. Crews will begin their routes earlier to cover as much of the service day as possible.

Residents are advised to stay indoors to avoid anticipated hazardous road conditions as much as possible. Public Works crews and Parks & Recreation Landscape Services are treating snow routes and critical public safety buildings. The City will continue to closely monitor the storm’s development and coordinate efforts to ensure readiness for any impacts we may experience.

Residents can stay informed during local emergencies including major weather events by signing up for VBAlert. Text “VBAlert” to 67283 or sign up at VirginiaBeach.gov/VBAlert to receive important messages and emergency alert notifications from the City of Virginia Beach and Emergency Management during inclement weather.
