Arrest Made in Dam Neck Road Rage Incident
On January 22, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., the Emergency Communication and Citizens Services (ECCS) received a 911 call reporting that shots had been fired during a road‑rage incident near the intersection of Dam Neck Road and Taylor Farm Road.
Upon arrival, Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) officers located a victim whose vehicle had been shot several times.Â
Detectives from the Crime Gun Investigative Squad, with the assistance of the Real Time Crime Center, immediately began reviewing available technology and video resources. Through this coordinated effort, detectives identified the suspect vehicle and the suspect driver, Kayleb Warren Coker (M/27), of Chesapeake.
Coker was taken into custody without incident and charged with attempted malicious wounding, shooting into a vehicle, shooting from a vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm within city limits.
